about to activate a new phone line for my house. I remember seeing miles for this a while ago, but couldn't rememeber where. Was jsut wondering if anyone knew where.. of course I'll sign up for the long distance miles later on...

Seems to me that in most markets there'd be no incentive for your local Telco to do this, since if you want a phone you go to the local monopoly. The exception would be where there is local competition or for an alternative provider such as Vonage.

I think you're thinking of the "Neighborhood" by MCI.

just found out ATT is actually offering miles for local service... 5000 (100 each month) and 5 miles for each dollar spent with them...

on continental, american and delta.... good deal!

Sprint also offers a complete plan similar to MCI's "Neighborhood." In my area it's more expensive but offers a better bonus (and if you're already with MCI you can switch and get the miles, which you may not be able to do if you stay with MCI).

United is partnered with Sprint--don't know if anybody else is.

and I'm partial to ATT. I hate SBC due to poor customer service and just a general ripoff. I won't give them anymore of my business.
