Miles when you switch insurance.
I have read enough from this forum, to know the holy grail of mile collection is being able to use a rewards credit card to charge cash and not incur any fees. Well I found one small example of how to do that on a small limited scale.
I got married recently and my wife and I had different companies for auto insurance, when hers was up for renewal, we got quotes and went with her company (State Farm over Geico, not that it matters). So I canceled my remaining pre-paid 3 months or so, and Geico is sending me a check. I am getting a check back for something I charged, no fee for changing.
I know this won't help the masses, but if you are going to change, maybe you will consider pre-paying as much as possible before making the switch.

thanks
I thought what you shared was significant because the next best thing to a FREEBIE ticket is a confirmed one that cost just a few bucks!
