My First Post - Weekly Flights For 4 Years
I am a brand new member here at FlyerTalk so I apologize if I posted this in the wrong forum.
I have been an infrequent business flyer for years but for the next 4 years I will need to fly from TRI to MSP almost every weekend (ideally Fri night returning Sun night).
My question is this ... In addition to trying to maximize my Dividend miles to get free trips, what else can I do to make this as inexpensive as possible?
The best current option is US Air via Charlotte.
Is there any way I can leverage the sheer number of flights to get a package deal?
Thanks in advance for any help! I apologize again if I have broken any forum rules.

I wouldn't use US.
They recently changed their rules so every time you fly TRI-CLT you only get 120 miles, 500 in all other programs.
Should you still choose to fly US, maybe you want to credit your flights to UA.
If all you're flying is domestic, NW or DL might be an alright option given their unlimited upgrade when you turn elite - presumably after 6-7 weeks.
You may want to look into Flying Blue, especially if you have a non US address you can use. If you are a non-US Gold or Platinum you get free lounge access when traveling on NW. You also earn 100% miles on NW, DL, CO even in discounted fare classes.
You will turn platinum after 15 weeks (60 segments)

If you must stick to US for some reason then you might also consider using BD (BMI). Pretty easy to attain *G and then even easier to maintain it from there out. Foreign *G will also get you lounge access in the US, though no free upgrades on US or UA.
If you have a non-US and non-French address then AF Flying Blue may be a great deal for you. You'd get lounge access as an elite plus and also free upgrades on NW. (I say non-French address because members in France are penalized with a higher threashold for Gold and Platinum)

Since this is not pertaining to a Mileage Run, and since it might involve deciding on the pros and cons of various airlines, I am moving this thread to MilesBuzz.

Since you're flying into MSP, you might want to look at what NW might offer. Do you currently have status with US? How many DM's do you currently have? If you stick with US, I would credit my miles to UA. Just remember, that you can credit those US miles to *A members. Are you paying out of your own pocket?

So I'm guessing you're a college student?
Since you mentioned doing this for the next four years, I'm guessing you're a student of some kind? Regardless, if you're going to be doing this regulary, maybe you could find a business that you could do some courier service for on the side (make some extra cash for a flight you're already taking).
Just a thought...
