Dads and Grads Promo includes Home Depot
The Moms, Dads and Grads promo rules state:
"Once registered, WorldPerks members will earn 500 Bonus Miles for every $50 spent shopping with any* merchant on the WorldPerks Mall between May 1, 2008 and June 30, 2008.
*Blockbuster, FTD, Gamefly, Netflix, Teleflora and Vinesse enrollments/purchases do not qualify for this promotion."
The list, just under this is titled:
OTHER SPECIAL BONUS MILE OFFERS
and is not a list of eligible mall merchants.
As was mentioned by ExitRowAisle, the T&C state:
Purchases of merchant gift certificates will not qualify for this promotion except Giftcertificates.com and Home Depot.
So Home Depot (and GiftCertificates.com) gift certificates do qualify.
Pevo: Yes, recently my son used a 10% off cert with a gift card. In fact, he just told them he had ordered the cert from the Home Depot Website, but hadn't received it and they gave him the discount.
Marathon Man: I was using AFAIK to abbreviate As Far As I Know, not to indicate a source of gift cards.

Using Home Depot Gift Cards
The homedepot.com website payment page has no place to enter a gift card.
The T&C for Home Depot gift cards state:
"You may use this Gift Card toward all in-store purchases at any The Home Depot store, EXPO Design Center, or The Home Depot Supply (SM) store." (emphasis added)
"This Gift Card may not be applied toward Tool Rental deposits and/or purchases made outside of a store. This includes, but is not limited to, online purchases, phone sales,"

I have to laugh...
I saw AFAIK and started to think of AFLAK and that screaming duck on their commercials. So I knew AFAIK wasnt them but I figured it was some company.

I am having a blonde moment and am not even a blonde. Oh well. The homedepot.com website payment page has no place to enter a gift card.

I would be able to get many HD GCs, get the boni from this promo, and then top off an acct that needs mileage in it now, before this promo ends. I would use those cards at any time, from now til whenever!
So it works for me, thanks.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the specifics of the program and merchant offer. For example, when using the AA E-shopping portal, many merchants do say in the T&C for that merchant that purchases using gift cards don't earn AA miles.
I do this all the time. Many local restaurants will even mail a GC to me for no extra charge, so I can just call them up and get a GC, no extra trip required. (The restaurants we like aren't near the house, so we're only there when we need to be. If we're going to be in the good-restaurant area for some reason during an I-Dine special, often we'll have lunch at one I-Dine restaurant and then swing by a second to get a GC. We then use the GCs after the I-Done promotion period ends.)
