Need help with combining Points for awards
I have several FF accounts from when I traveled quite a bit. I will probably never use some of the accounts again but would like to take advantage of the points I accumalated if possible.
I have pts in American-15,000, Continental-14,000, United-6500, Delta-6500 & Marriott-12,000
Our family is taking a vacation in April and I could use Hotel & Car Rental awards. Is there any creative way to combine pts in order to get some use out of these miles that you can think of?
Thanks

15.000 AA=30.000 Hilton Hhonors
14.000 CO=20.000 Hilton Hhonors
after that you will have 4000 CO miles left.
50.000 Hilton Hhonors points can be 5 free nights. More info on http://www.hilton.com/en/hhonors/rewards/hotel.jhtml and finally welcome to Flyertalk!

Chase also offers a MC with a 10K bonus. It wouldn't take much to top it off.
Granted, you'll have annual fees to deal with, but you'll have two free tickets for less than $200.

Kempis has the right idea for hotels and singlemalt for airline tix and you don't lose any value in the transfer, but I doubt that you will get the miles transferred in time for April. AA might be fairly quick, less than 2 weeks for the cert to mail to Hhonors, then a week for Hhonors, but CO says it can take up to 90 days for transfer, but they have come quicker. I just wouldn't count on it.
And sometimes initial credit card bonus posts can take an infuriating amount of time to post.
You can make reservations for an award stay at Hilton even without the points in your account, but be you might want to make other arrangements just in case.
I think you are better off thinking of how you can start to consolidate your stray miles and look for some promotions and plan a bit further ahead than April. Good luck.
