What Airline should I switch to?

I've been a loyal Delta flyer for 7 years of hard traveling. I moved over from NW because I just couldn't stand the props and fake mechanicals. I did this even though it required flying through Atlanta instead of direct to Memphis for about 25% of my flying.

Now with the changes I have gone from GM to Nothing without any accounting from Delta whatsoever to let me know how I could have changed my pattern. For all I know I was 1 mile short of SM status.

I live in Mobile (MOB) and my travel takes me to ABQ 3 or 4 times per year and mostly eastern seaboard locations 15 to 20. This is my business travel, personal is mostly domestic and doesn't really have a pattern.

We're serviced by CO, NW, USCAir, and of course DL. DL has the most flights, all of which connect in DFW, CVG and ATL.

I'm looking for a new place to hang my hat. I only have 295,000 miles left in my account, which I'll use for a European trip to wipe out the balance.

Which program in your opinion is going to work best for me. (I'm also a PAYING CR member, so I'll need to change that when they ask for more money in a couple of months.)

I would recommend you fly on CO but utilize NW's FF program.

I have been flying UsAir a great deal since the partnership with UA. The domestic upgrades are not 100% free but they have a nice product. Even though CO gets a great deal of bashing they have great new clean planes and an awesome domestic upgrade policy. I still find CO best overall. Good luck with your choice.

I have flown into Mobile, AL on several occassions and it is a nice city. I fly almost exclusively on US Airways. Why? because I like the way they treat elite travelers. At least the front line folks do. Senior management has a bit of an attitude towards elites that is distasteful. If you are East Coast dominate in your travels as you indicated then US really is your best bet, and as long as UA hangs in there you have most everything else covered.

One of my friends swears by USAir. I just switched.. I don't fly nearly as much as you do.. but I can attain silver status if I fly 25,000 miles per year on any type of ticket.. it doesn't matter if it is full fare coach, discount coach, or even a ticket off of priceline..

For me, this is the first chance I'll ever be able to attain elite status..

And since I am moving to London, that means I can basically do it in three round trips.
