I've got a question,

I am a silver member of the marriott program, how can i reach gold staus by reference?

I am also a general member of Starwood, can i also be a gold member by reference?

I'm glad to have you as a new poster. If you've been lurking for awhile, you'll have seen that this board is an incredible reference. Either way, I'm sure that the experts about each of the two hotel programs you ask about will be able to provide you with the answers you're looking for.

Another feature of Flyertalk is that there are lots of forums for the specific discussion of individual programs. And the 'regulars' of those programs then to cluster around those forums. So asking Starwood questions in the Starwood forum, and asking Marriott questions in the Marriott forum will get the best possible answers for you.

At the same time, since the questions that each user poses gets read by thousands of others, Flyertalk remains an incredibly useful board by classifying posts by program -- so that people can find the information they're looking for either by browsing the forums or by searching.

If your question was just about one program, I'd simply help you out and go ahead and move your post into the appropriate forum for you.

But since you're asking about two different programs, I'm going to go ahead and close this topic and ask that you just repost your question in the appropriate forum -- the Starwood Forum and the Marriott forum.
