Top 100 Websites - PC Magazine

Hey Randy,

You might want to watch your mailbox for the Top 100 Websites issue of PC Magazine. (Wink, Wink!)

I live next door to one of the editors and she was asking a few weeks ago about my favorite websites, and of course FT was #1. She told me today you made the cut!

I think that warrants at least a t-shirt or something!!! LOL!

I hope it included one of my favorite sites: http://www.****edcompany.com

I like it because you can do a search American Airlines, for example, and view some internal memos. This one went out in August to the 7,000 American employees who lost their jobs: http://www.internalmemos.com/memos/m...hp?memo_id=764

I haven't done any searches on United or Delta, so I don't know what the site has regarding them.

Also, I haven't yet found a reason to question to authenticity of the memos on the site. In fact, a couple of internal memos from an energy company were posted there, and I have the originals from employees who got them and they all matched - so in that case at least, the documents were authentic.

Didn't realize the filter wouldn't allow name, sorry. Kind of off-topic anyway I guess.

But if you're interestd in the site, I'll give you the missing letters in Detroit Police Department radio code:

Frank, Union, Carl, King

Got my issue yesterday - sure enough... FlyerTalk.com is the first of the mentioned travel sites. See the online version here:

BTW, the listings are in alphabetical order. The FT listing indicates it loads quickly and has fewer than 5,000 backward links which I find surprising.

It's great that FT got a nice mention -- but I wonder if this publicity has anything to do with the really slow performance of the site lately...

(thousands of new visitors overwhelming the server's capacity with hits?)

Afraid it may be a mixed blessing.

Randy addressed the recent sluggishness and downtime in the Technical Issues Forum. There's also a current system notice about the phenomena.
