Bereavement Fares
Does anyone know if these are still offered and by which airlines? Unfortunately have need to fly to Calif this week for funeral of brother in law and wondering if this would qualify for the lower fare. Thanks

I'm truly sorry for your loss and wish you the best.
I'm going to move this thread over to TravelBuzz. I hope in this difficult time you're not offended -- I suspect that that forum is appropriate for your question.
In the meantime let me offer that most airlines do offer bereavement fares. They're generally 50% of full fare, although there's some variation and may be subject to capacity controls.
When I've found need for last minute personal travel of this nature, I've found that my miles were perfect and up to the task.
Many airlines open up award inventory at the last minute as they see which flights are far from sold out.
