please help! upgrade...
Hello,
I am planning a trip to Jersulalem, Israel in the summer. I want to go first class, but it is very very expensive and i do not have many frequent flyer miles, only about 15,000 on delta. What is the easiest/cheapest way to earn enough miles to earn me a first class upgrade on Delta or El Al (i heard delta has a code chare agreement with el al)
I would even be willing to purchase an upgrade from someone. (if that is possible?)
As you can probobly already see, i am a 'newbie' in frequent flyer programs, and i need some assistance and guidence, so i would truly appreciate feedback.
Thanks Tons,
Michael

Michael hello,
ELAL and DL do codeshare but AFAIK there are no upgrades on this route using DL miles or a DL ticket. All the flights are on ELAL. Other flights to TLV include CO, Air Canada, and AA direct and UA, NW/KLM through Europe.
I'm not sure you will be able to grab an upgrade for the summer given your mileage situation, and the fact that the TLV route is a heavily traveled one in the summer (although this summer may be light.....)
Good luck.

Hello,
Thanks for your responce.
Are there any deals going on where i can possibly buy miles or upgrades?
also, Do you know how many miles do i need for an upgrade on a trip from JFK to TLV??
I have a bad knee, and I am 6"2' tall, so it would be very hard to be in a coach seat for 10-11 hours with my conditions.
Thanks!

This inquiry is not buzz material, and was already cross-posted to Coupon Connection, Delta, and a few other places no doubt.
The short answer is that answers to all of your Delta-related questions can be found at delta.com.

Welcome to Flyertalk, myoung0.
One of the things you'll find about Flyertalk is a wealth of information that can really transform your travel life.
Another thing is that it's a community with its own set of etiquette. As you participate, you'll see what I mean.
One of the basics is that the same question probably shouldn't be posted in a whole bunch of places.
Since you've asked the Delta question in the Delta forum, and you've asked about trading for upgrades over in Coupon Connection, I'm going to close this thread here in MilesBuzz. For the record, this forum is for
