Anyone know of any airlines doing elite status matches with Southwest now after all of the RR changes last month and the new A-list group? I've had a companion pass on Southwest for the last year, but in the past no airlines have "matched" this before as it wasn't really considered an elite level. Not sure if things have changed since then. I'm about 5 flights away from the A-list level; not sure if it's worth it to get the extra ones in. I'm also Silver Preferred on USAirways.

Airlines give you a status match to get you to move your flying over. I suspect most feel most that WN travelers aren't about to switch to another (especially a legacy) carrier, and may not be worth pursuing financially even if they would. There are exceptions, you may be one, but if that's their take on the situation you're probably out of luck. If you have a travel agent or corporate travel coordinator, try that route; he or she may have an airline sales rep who can pull strings the rest of us can only imagine.

Based upon your location WN is probably a better choice unless US goes direct to more locations. Using RR is more diffcult now on WN however. I have had CP for wife for 9 years. CP works great however the boarding process for CP sucks.
