Help For Romantic Getaway
Ok fellow FF'ers I pose a challenge. Mr. King of the Cockroachs(me) will be getting a Mrs. King of the Cockroaches in the next year or so. I currently have 300,000 miles in my DM account. Plus 100K with CO One Pass. Plenty to travel in style, the question however remains where to go. We can not decide so we thought we would solicit ideas from this highly intelligent and equally cheap (frugal) group. we await your suggestions. Also FYI I have over 200K Marriott points too, plus an near equal amount on hilton. Thanks in advance

A couple of people are pretty fired up about posts showing up in the wrong places. Technically, this is a Travelbuzz topic, but most of us here will still help you out - even if a moderator eventually moves the thread.
What is your timeframe? Do you have time to wait for the UA redemption processes to take effect? If so, that gives you the standard honeymoon choice: Hawaii. F/C award tix to Hawaii are going up in cost to the point where some might say it isn't worth it, but from NJ it's still not a bad value if that's what you want to do. Maybe throw in a stopover in SFO to maximize the "value" you are getting from the award.
I did a Hilton ALON on the Big Island last summer and am going back this summer to do a Marriott 087 on Kauai. Availability for me has been no problem because I've avoided the winter/spring. In those months, you probably will find hotel awards in HI pretty tight.
If this doesn't fit your timeframe or desires, Paris rocks for any occasion at any time of the year, although summer is obviously best. My problem is that I've *never* been able to find US availability for an 80,000 mile Envoy award to Paris. I've either gone on a paid coach ticket on AA w/upgrade or award on UA. Again, if you can wait for the UA network to open up to your US miles, you will have a lot more CDG flights to pick from.

This thread really does not belong in MilesBuzz. However please be aware with the recent FT upgrade the administrative interface is not working correctly. If I try to move the thread it will likely close it here, and never end up at the board it is intended for.

Don't worry if the right trip comes along I'l spend every point & mile I have, but I don't wanna pee it away either.
As for thr UA code share I would say YES I have time to wait and let the events unfold. What about Amsterdam? She is of Danish extraction and I'm wondering about maybe wandering around that area of europe?

Bali, if you want to spend time on the beach. With US Air miles you can get a first class ticket to Singapore and go the rest of the way on Singapore Air.
Venice if your not into the beach scene.
Beijing is not so romantic but there is a lot to see and it will be unforgetable.
