FF miles exchange

I have been accumulating SWAir rapid rewards points on my Hampton Inn business stays because of their fast accumulation to a free voucher. I now have 5 round trip vouchers, soon to be 6 and would prefer to trade them for another airlines round trip vouchers. The closest SWA is 4 1/2 hours away and it has become a pain to drive there to fly. Does anyone know of a site that I could exchange my vouchers for another airlines, say Airtran or Delta? Any suggestions? Thank you

Have you tried eBay, Craigs List, or Sell.com? I have heard that they are the best way to unload all unwanted awards? You can get cash in return too.

Coupon Connection here on FT, but you'll need 90 days and 90 posts for access. I would be very careful trading with people you do not know.

Agreed. Bartering awards is against the rules of every program I've looked at. The airlines are not exactly unaware of eBay, Craig's List and the rest. They have enforcement units who make examples of random violators. Those folks are good at their jobs. Penalties include closing your account and confiscating all your miles/points - not just the ones you tried to sell/barter. If you use a ticket obtained this way, you may show up at the airport to find it cancelled, or show up for the return trip with no option but to buy a one-way ticket at the last-minute walk-up fare to get home. IMHO, it's not worth the risk.

Welcome to Flyertalk, Bushwacker!

Exchanging awards and such isn't permiitted in the MilesBuzz forum. After you've been around Flyertalk for awhile (join us, post a bit, learn some, participate in the community) there may well be a place for such things. But it's not something that new members are encouraged to do here.

In the meantime, I'll close this thread here.

Gary
