I know all the standard A, F, and J are basically for business class and first class, but expertflyer.com only shows basic descriptions for what the seat codes are, unlike AA which has detailed descriptions for all the class codes.
so, my question is "What is the class code for 'first class/upgrade' on UA?"

Paid F can be F, P, or A (maybe another one that I'm forgetting). Upgraded F is NF. Saver Award F is XF. All of this can also be found in the UA forum, in the "all known booking codes" thread.

Also keep in mind that many UA flights are three cabin, and therefore from coach you upgrade to business, which would be "I" inventory.

Please see the thread linked to by Lurker1999 above, and then consider posting questions about United fare codes in the United forum.. as that's where the best answer is likely to come from.
I'll close this thread here in MilesBuzz, as it's not really the latest frequent flyer program buzz.
