Could you tell us what this person told you?

Maybe this should be posted on the AirTran board.

They already have a better program. You save $100 or more on every flight as compared to Delta. At $100 savings, it takes only a few trips to get a free flight. Much better deal.

I read somewhere that they are going to a paperless electronic system similar to the way the program is set up now (flight credits, not miles) only that you do not have to save your flight credit vouchers and send them in. It will all be done electronically.

The electronic system would be nice, but I hope that they do not change the program at all - it is the most lucrative one of any airline.
I actually enjoy the paperwork:
- Monday through Thursday make numerous one-way business class flights paying with AmEx
- Friday: copy and mail in my receipts (always by certified mail!)
- Next Friday: ticket voucher shows up in the mail
- repeat ad infinitum
My record is 3 free round-trips in 12 days (9 segments) of flying. Try THAT on one of the "Little 6"!

Put out 10 cockpit fires in a calendar year (between January 1 and December 31) to receive unlimited Business Class upgrades (only available in cabins where the floor to the business class cabin hasn't burned yet).
During this special introduction period, you can qualify by putting out three cockpit fires in either a DC-9 or 717 between November 15 and December 15 qualify for all of 2003.
In order to qualify, you MUST present your boarding card to an Airtran or Atlanta Fire Department representative that is waiting to assist you at the bottom of the evacuation slide. Such representative can also help with baggage, ground transportation, and connecting deathtraps.

dbaker, do you smoke by any chance?
Cause if you did, it would be safer for you to fly ScareTran than continue smoking.
AirTran has had 1 fatal accident in its history. Let's not start counting how many times CO's JungleJets have landed with landing gear or flap problems and how many times smoldering DL MD-11s have turned around over the oceans of the world!
