A few things from recent columbus trip
1) Had forgotten advantages of the venerable 727 (esp. in 1st class): Older (bigger) seats, fast jet, quiet (at least up front it is!)
2) Credit where it is due: landed at bwi at 11:54. At gate at 11:58. Off plane and exactly 90 second walk to car in parking garage (no checked luggage). In car on the way back to work at 12:01. At Dulles, I would have still been sitting on the people mover, waiting for it to depart the mid-field terminal!!!
3) And I thought it was a long walk from O'hare gate c1 to b17. Had the displeasure of walking from c29 to e2a. This is my first experience in the e-gate area. Hope its my last!

Excellent little review from your trip, Matt Wald. You are among the best trip reporters on here.
If I know O'Hare (nightmare) is on my travel plans I wear my converse white sneakers for what I call "the O'Hare MAD dash!" CATMAn

Let me add my 2 cents about my trip to Boston this weekend. My 2/17 1:15p IAH to BOS flight was cancelled for whatever reason. I found that out while checking my seat assignment in the North Presidents Club. Since it was lunch time, one of the Club Attendents gave me a lunch voucher for $8.
I was booked on the next flight out at 3:45p. We must have taxied for at least 15 minutes then waited another 20 minutes or so for my luggage.
But at least the weather and the people of Boston and the surrounding areas were great!

Geez, that E gate area at ORD was miserable near Xmas! I had a delayed flight to ABE in December and took the extra time to walk around the airport. All those commuter flights were being cancelled left and right and the mood in that cramped terminal area was ugly.
