SPG points -> Delta miles how?
Just a quick question (I have no much experience with neither Starwood nor Delta) - is it possible to convert 20 000 SPG points into 25 000 Delta miles in another person's account?
I hope this is the right subforum to ask.

Please note that both the Starwood Preferred Guest and the airline account must have identical member names in order to complete this request. Different names will cause the transfer to be rejected.

Note, however, that you can transfer points from one Starwood account to another Starwood account at the same address. For example, points could be tranferred from your account to your spouse's account, and spouse could then transfer to own Skymiles account.

Given your post count, you might want to consider checking out the Coupon Connection. Its a travesty to convert SPG points to Delta miles, I'm sure you could find a better value for them somehow.

Is the conversion rate really that bad?
From a fast glimpse at CC it seemed that SPG points : Delta miles are traded at about 1 : 1.5 so official rate of 1 : 1.25 looked quite OK. Wanted to clean out my SPG account and giving miles to my spouse looked like the easiest way.

Is it possible to move miles from Delta (or another carrier) to SPG, without getting totally lambasted on the exchange? That would work well for me but I've had no luck finding anything.

To my knowledge Delta does not permit transfers except to other Skymiles accounts. A good place to begin this type of research is the Webflyer mileage converter tool. It's not infallible, but generally speaking if no sensible conversion path is shown it probably does not exist...
