Best miles for C seats to TPE

We are trying to score some C seats to TPE using miles. What are the best choices, in terms of...
A. Ease of obtaining miles?
B. Ease of finding award seats? (on that carrier or a partner)
C. Quality would break any ties, but isn't the primary consideration.

Because I know I'll be asked, we currently have...
120k miles on NW
40k miles (in two accounts) on AA
almost 50k miles on UA
30k miles on DL
...and some other small pockets here and there. I know many people will look at that list and say it's a no-brainer to go with NW...but AA miles are a lot easier to obtain (through CCs).

Our home airport (LSE) is only served by NW & AA, so obviously we would prefer to start out from here, but other major airports aren't so far away, so pretty much any alliance is possible. Thanks!

I've purchased C tickets to TPE on both EVA and CX. The EVA flight was an AA code-share so full miles and points. If you take EVA make sure you get the 777 and get the Premium Laurel seats. The 747s only have old style seats. If you take CX you will have to connect through HKG. The service on EVA was comparable to that on CX and is cheaper with no connections. Just make sure you get the code-share. EVA will credit to CO but not to NW.

I've used AA miles to get to TPE as well but not in C as it was completely booked. Had to go with F on AA to NRT and then down to TPE on EG. Home was on CX through NRT and then AA.

We are trying to earn enough miles use miles to obtain the tickets, not purchase them with cash, so the EVA codeshare is out.

How easy was it to arrange your trip with AA miles? Obviously there was some give-and-take involved as you were in F (not that I would complain), but it sounds like you were looking for C.

ooooh, I see. As far as using AA miles, yes, there was some give and take. C was unavailable for AA, CX, and JL so I had to take F. Routing was SAN-LAX(AA)-NRT(AA)-TPE(EG)-NRT(CX)-DFW(AA)-SAN(AA). Only AA was available for the transpacific portion. Original return was TPE-HKG(CX)-NRT(CX)-LAX(AA)-SAN(AA). There are quite a few creative options.

If you go with C on AA its all old style seats only. JL and CX have new seats and CX has the "new" new seats on a couple routes between NRT, HKG and TPE.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you take AA to NRT you have to take EG to TPE, you'll get in too late to take CX.
