Maximize miles from East Coast ?!?
How can I maximize miles for a PHL - PHX trip I have planned for Nov. 7 - Nov. 10? I have some flexibility in flying from nearby PHL airports (LGA, JFK, etc.).
I would like to spend the least possible $$ and prefer American Airlines. Ideally I would like to go through LAX, because I think I can get some extra miles that way...
Any ideas? I am somewhat flexible in the days, +/- 1 day would be ok for a lot of extra miles
Thanks in advance.

Hi Spr_AA!
Try posting your thought on the mileage run board ... that't the place for the folks who really are into maximizing mileage/segments/pain. just kidding. But serious mileage analysts read there a lot.

Since you're almost as far east as you can get, best bet is to do some north/south flying. See if you can go via MIA, then to ORD or DFW, then to PHX. Or, maybe you can do some backtracking via LAX. Use Expedia to look at the routing rules for the fare to see what you can do. As stated above, those of use in the Mileage Run forum can get you lots of miles for little buck.

Also check out the US Airways board for available bonuses featuring PHL and PHX; I see a nonstop for 283.50 11/7 to 11/11, netting 13,300 miles by my calculation.
