Cashing in United Miles

I tried to use my United miles to fly to Key West, FL. I know that United doesn't fly into Key West, but US Air does. A United representative told me (on the phone) that I couldn't use my miles for that purpose? (although there was a language barrier I was trying to overcome) Is this true? What do I need to do?

Please also read the rules of the road of FT which frown upon crossposting.

That said, as you were advised in the UA forum, keep calling back.

Welcome to Flyertalk.

Because you have posted this in the UA forum as well, I'm going to close it here.
