Exchange points & miles free (once).
I clicked a link at AirCanada.ca and it took me to http://www.points.com site. Since it enables numerous point exchanges I'm wondering why I haven't seen it here before. Is anyone using it? If you transfer points to AA do they count towards lifetime 1k?

Actually now that I think about it, I once purchased AA miles and the AA site sent me to points.com for the transaction. Points.com put it through as a cash advance instead of a normal charge. My credit card then charged me $30.
My calls and emails to points.com were met with promises but no action. It was only when i wrote to AA that points.com did something about it.
I would never use them again for that but I was thinking of doing the one free transfer if anyone here ever had good experience with them.

I used the free transfer, as did many folks on FT I think, with good result for the AA 20/20 promotion.
The reason they are not talked about much is their transfer rates are horrendous, not worth using.
