UA premier status
Hello to all members...I am new to this community & I hope my post is in the correct section. :-)
I have a simple question - since 1998, I have been a UA mileage plus premier member. However, last year, I missed that mileage requirement by 3000 miles. I kindly asked UA mileage plus, and they said that regardless of my prior commitment to UA as a premier, they would not let me continue for another year as a premier member.
Should I challenge this with a more senior representative? Is it worth my while?
I would appreciate any feedback on this issue.
Thanks. :-)

No, I don't think it's worth asking another representative. They will most likely give you the same response.
If you were really concerned with keeping Premier status, then you should try doing a mileage run for those last 3k miles (sfo-ord would do the trick, i think).

Welcome to Flyertalk!
If you're arguing over status for 2002, I don't think it's really worth your while; I'd concentrate on making Premier for 2003.
If you can point to current year-to-date flight activity that puts you on track for Premier or PremEx for 2003, maybe that'd be worth a fax/phone call. But, honestly, life is too short. There's only five months left in 2002.
By the way, you might have better luck posting in the United forum down below.
Cheers

I thought that UA lowered the 25,000 mile requirement because of the events of the year (2001). I recall that if you were close, as you were, and had made 2P in prior years, that they allowed you to continue at that level, as in your case, 2P. However, I may be wrong. I know of 2 friends whom were just a few thousand shy for 1P and they retained their 1P status.
PS- I think this post should be in the United forum, you might get better responces there, and welcome to Flyertalk

Considering half the year is over, I would think it is a bit late to be begging for an exception for status for this year. Especially, if you have not flown much on United this year.
They made many exceptions for people last year giving them status this year if they had it in the previous 2 years.
Not sure you will find someone willing to make an exception for you now.
