INSIDE FLYER...Do you save these?
I've received INSIDE FLYER for a couple of years now and have been saving each issue. Is there any point to this? Sure I could reference a promotion code if I didn't get credit for something, but for how long should I keep them?
I was wondering if anyone else saves their copies, and if so why. Any other input would be appreciated too.

We save them for you and provide back up research for old promotion codes, etc.
When we finally launch the formal insideflyer.com Web site in a few months we will eventually have every issue every published back to 1986 online for you for research and other information, though you'll need to be wither a print or online customer to access all that.
On a side note, I could tease you and hope you've got them saved right next to all those old Playboy magazines.....only jesting you with that one. Interesting question.
When we finally launch the formal insideflyer.com Web site in a few months we will eventually have every issue every published back to 1986 online for you for research and other information, though you'll need to be wither a print or online customer to access all that.

Randy, this one's just too easy.
I could go on and on about backissues profiling now-defunct airline programs that showed too much tail..
Or read old articles about in-flight headwinds...
Or that the person with the most back issues gets to belong to the Mile High Club...

Actually, all of your Inside Flyer mags showed be protected inside Mylar bags and a cardboard backing and stored in atmosphere-controlled rooms (for those who were comic-book afficionados, you know what I'm talking about
)
Also, on top of the stash should rest a bust of Randy (which would actually be a secret alarm system) overlooking the pyramid of mags.
Most Inside Flyer mags are read pretty quickly and after I cut out what I need, I recycle the rest. All in all I hold on to them for a maximum of 6 months.

I save all my issues of Inside Flyer. Not only do I collect Inside Flyer, but I've also retained every check I've ever written in my entire life (account opened January 1967 and the same checking account remains open). Also, every automobile work order (for automobiles I haven't owned in over 35 years), every phone bill, utility bill and credit card statement I've ever received, etc, etc, etc. I truly believe I could put the Smithsonian Institute to shame.
Not to mention letters, cards and photographs, among other things. My Archives are about ready to self implode and have been for many years.
My not so simple reasoning: It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. A serious character flaw to say the least.

Mine get passed on to my corporate travel department... we are in cahoots to try to get more of our folks to fly AA or UA so we can get a corporate discount, so all those bonus codes help those girls out!

I used to have a subscription several years ago and saved at least one or two. The main reason was that I was always looking up the section on who partnered with whom. So my only disappointment with my new subscription is that this section seems to have been eliminated. Only the bonus section - very valuable, I must emphasize - remains. Thanks for a great magazine. I only wish you'd put the partner section back in. Thanks.

There is NO reason to have the Partner section in each issue. It is in the thick annual pulication with all the other information, you would ever want to know and more!
Monthly magazines should have monthly and timely information. Or better yet, LQQK up the very LATEST information on the Airline's website.

It is true that we have been butchered by a majority of readers for not having Partners and Programs in the edition anymore. However, I think you'll see a return of that feature in the near future because no matter what we think - our readers should be able to get what they want from us. Good news to many.
P.S. For any of you that have gone off our wagon because ofthe great hope that everything on the Internet is and should be free. Well, there's some bad news. When we re-launch webflyer soon, the InsideFlyer content will no longer be available for free. There will be a lapse as we prepare the formal launch of insideflyer.com for which you can subscribe to an online version of the magazine.
