2007 Freddie Missing some Programs/Awards Categories
I just finished casting my ballot for the 2007 Freddie Awards. I definitely don't know all the programs and awards for each program. Based on the few that I do know, I noticed what I thought of as misses in the award and bonus categories:
Best Bonus (Airlines) - They missed AA's best bonus of the year, Fly3 roundtrips between DFW/DAL and a selection of other airports, and receive 30K bonus points. (And we were able to receive the bonus twice.) This promo almost seemed to fill those flights with people coming from all over the country and beyond just to fly three times and then return home.
Affinity Credit Card - They listed the regular Marriott Signature Visa and the Business Visa, but missed the best Marriott affinity card, the Premier Signature Visa. It gives close to double the miles of the other two cards (5 points/$ instead of 3 for Marriott purchases and 2 points/$ instead of 1 for travel related purchases plus a Cat 5 award cert every year.) Why list the two lesser card offerings and not their best one?
Best Award (Airlines) - They put in the AA 25th Anniversary promo award of a 25% discount for awards. But they didn't list the ongoing 40% (15K) award for all direct flights of 750 miles or less. While the 25th Anniv. promo included more flights than just direct, it really isn't much different than their normal discount awards for their CC holders and was only orderable for a very short period (1 month) and only for limited flight dates. Where the 40% discount on direct flights has been around for a number of months and still has some time on it making it more generally usable and thus a better award.
Were there others from other programs?
