Does anyone have a non 1-800 number for Inside Flyer? I have been trying to call (from Australia) for the last 3 days and seem to be getting a permanent engaged signal...

sorry, many people calling worried about advice on what to do with US Airways miles. Our advice is no worry, they are safe over next 6 months.

For a phone number, try 719-572-2714 or 719-597-8880. Hope this helps.

Randy--I am one of those concerned individuals. Why do you feel they are safe for six months?

I would think, because it would take at least this long before US Airways can be totally dissolved. Total dissolution also is not likely to happen, US Airways is too big a carrier for that.

If you think about how TWA was bought out by AA and what happened with their FF program and miles; you can sortof guess what will happen to US Airways if they have to go down that road.

The one thing that everybody has to remember, is that the other airlines recognize that US Airways has a loyal customer base; meaning their Frequent Flier program. And, nobody wants to let a solid customer base just disappear. *If* (and I think it's a big if) US Airways was going out of business, I might worry. But, Filing for Chapter 11 is no big deal these days...

I keep reading these posts about another carrier honoring the DM program, but I am unconvinced. If a carrier buys the routes from U, pax will fly the new carrier if they want that route. For example, I hate DL but I live in ATL so I have little choice.
