Points.com

Has anybody used Points.com to transfer miles around?

Any thoughts on it? Is it worth it or is the loss in miles per transfer too much?

They were the official "sponsor" of the program miles merger with AW and USAir. Other than that, I've not used.

celcafe, welcome to FlyerTalk! As your question concerns use of frequent travel program points and miles, it is one for our MilesBuzz forum and I'll gladly move it there for continued discussion. Ocn Vw 1K, Co-Moderator

If you are desparate it may be your only option. Some airlines transfering is not an option even through points.com. I do know there where points.com makes there money is through the exchange. So you are not getting the best value. But like I said, if you need to do it, you need to do it....

I found it very useful for keeping accounts "alive" with the recent spate of shortening expiration dates. The 136 "orphaned" miles in my Midwest Express account were useful for getting 1 mile on DL (9 MW miles) and 1 mile on AA (3 MW miles), thus extending their lifetimes by 2 or 3 years.

Re. your signature line...

I thought the Chinese made all the pies and the Americans sold them to one another for inflated prices, but FT users at least get miles for the online purchase... HEHEHE

MM

PS: points.com... BEWARE the rip off. There's my 2 cents for the newbie! Welcome to FT
