I don't understand

I would assume the OP is asking either "who has applied to the most mileage based CCs" or "who has received the most points from applying to CCs" for this past year.

4 United CC's (4*20k=80k), 1 AA CC (25k), total of 105k, but I'm sure I don't come anywhere close to most miles from applying for new CC's.

(2) Citibusiness MC

As for the number a bonus miles--no exact count w/o much labor--but a lot. We'll say on the airline cards at least 20K per card (except the AA Gold I think is 12,500).

(and yes--my FICO is fine--mid 700s down from high 700s)

Settle down

Yall may want to settle down on the CC apps. It could ruin your credit and end up costing you way more in bad rates than the miles are worth.

From www.howstuffworks.com :

10% of the credit score is based on the number of inquiries on your report. If you've applied for a lot of credit cards or loans, you will have a lot of inquiries on your credit report. These are bad for your score because they indicate that you may be in some kind of financial trouble or may be taking on a lot of debt (even if you haven't used the cards or gotten the loans). The more recent these inquiries are, the worse for your credit score. FICO scores only count inquiries from the past year.

Other than that, good luck!

This is one of those "it must be true, I saw it on the internet" things. If you pay your bills you can have literally dozens of credit cards. I sure do. :) Including, for example, three Marriott cards and six AA cards.

As with pushback, I have gotten tons of credit cards over the last couple of years (Thanks FT for the inspiration and the miles :) ). And my credit score is fine. I just applied for three more airline cards and had no problem getting all three. The biggest problem is figuring out which cards to take out of my overstuffed wallet!

One way to keep credit problems from developing is, when you close an account, don't really close it. Instead, have the credit limit consolidated with a remaining account which will protect your credit score for a variety of dumb reasons related to the irrational world of credit scores.

Meanwhile, keep those free bonus miles coming in! ^

How long can this madness continue? Gotta love the more irrational aspects of marketing in a quasi-monoply setup.

Are both your SPG Amex cards personal cards? Did you get bonuses on both?

Am surprised both you and Mrs. got denied on the Marriott card.
