ALERT: GOLDPOINT PROMOTION
Let's all use this thread to congratulate ourselves, brag about how great we did, howl about how poorly they did or just tally up something in a topic of its own.
Clearly what we need are MORE Goldpoints threads.

Wormwood and cactus pete, you two alone have contributed 10% of the goldpoints threads. If you don't like them cluttering up Buzz why add to it. Couldn't you have added your comments to your already numerous posts on the existing threads rather than start new goldpoints threads? Please display some consideration for the rest of the FT readership and post to existing goldpoints threads in future if you feel you have some additional sarcasm that you just HAVE to contribute.

It is arguable whether greed was the motivating factor for people joining the goldpoints promotion. But what is an unassailable fact is that the one who started this thread is cynical.
cynical (adjective): marked by or displaying contemptuous mockery of the motives or virtues of others

As I was reading this, I got a call from Fred at Gold points who alerted me that the final 2/3rds of my points just posted. What timing! Plus, I was going to cancel all of my Valumags this afternoon because I felt duped by GP.

Thanks for the compliment, I am most certainly a cynic and proud to be so. I am also in-credible (as in not credulous, as in not believing people anything I am told, as in not believing people weren't motivated by greed... you don't buy 12 million points worth of magazines for any other reason).
If there is anything missing from modern society it is skepticism, cynicism, and a healthy insistence on not being credulous.
That said, being a cynic, when cynicism is deserved (or skeptical or critical, or incredulous) is not contemptous of people IN GENERAL. I actually have a very high regard for people (most of them). In fact, it is because I value people I speak out on something I find contemptuous (such as the rapists who descended on Goldpoints, Automall, et al).
Thanks again, you made my day.

Why even start a Goldpoints thread in "Buzz"?

But to answer your question, why not move all of the GoldPoints threads to the Radissson forum?

secondly, i am quite self-congratulatory that i took advantage of an AMAZING promotion and now have exactly enough miles to fly on the Concorde for less than $1,000.
it's not like Goldpoints gave the points out in a computer error or anything...

This, of course, has nothing to do with miles. This has to do with Wormwood's continuing to take offense to the fact that some of us did indeed get more than a few thousand miles from the GoldPoints promotion and nothing more.
