depends

A lot of posters on this site have serious elite status with the airlines and get more bang for their buck from upgrading a long flight to first class. This is difficult to do unless you have status. So you may get the impression that your proposed use is not a good deal.

On the other hand, it is difficult to redeem miles generally since there are so few available reward tickets, so if you find an itinerary you like, that is valuable.

My sense is to try to get a ticket worth more. Consider saving your miles to use for a more expensive flight if you have any of those in the forseeable future.

similarly confused by this post. and, if you could be a tad more descriptive in your Topic title, that would be just grand.
