Frequent Flyer points on Cathay Pacific??

Hi everyone,

I'm new to these boards and wanted to ask how I can get Frequent Flyer points for travelling on Cathay Pacific.

I think that my trip is booked as Q Class which means that I cannot get any points from Qantas (I am located in Australia). I also don't think AsiaMiles will give me points for this class either..

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Leila.

You can accrue mileage for CX flights on the American Airlines AAdvantage program. Economy fares booked in Y, B or H earn 100%.
Business fares booked in J, C, D, or I earn 100% plus 25% bonus. First fares booked in F, A or P earn 100% plus 50% bonus.

As for your QF flight booked in Q, you should earn 70% mileage accrual with AAdvantage.

Visit http://www.aa.com for details.

See the tab for AAdvantage and check out the Member Guide link. You will see sub links with information on earning and using miles.

There is also FewMiles' Unofficial American Airlines AAdvantage site at

uhhh, I think she means that her CX flight is booked in Q, not QF. From my limited experience, deeply discounted economy tickets don't accrue AAdvantage miles.

Generally, if your fare basis can't get mileage credit on one OneWorld airline partner (and CX certainly counts here!), there is little chance of getting credit on any of the others (QF, AA etc.)

Yep, Q-class is too cheap to earn miles anywhere.

You can earn miles for down to H-class for AAdvantage for US members.

If your AA account is based in Canada, you can earn miles for even lower fare classes like K, L, M, and S.

But I know of no programs which will give you miles for Q-class CX travel.
