Help! (an FT forum technical issue)
This topic may not go on THIS board, but I'm hoping somebody can help me with the technical aspects of this board. When I view a thread, and then I go back to the thread after other people have responded, I cannot see the new responses. It simply shows me the posts that I was able to see previously.
I've cleared my "Past history" option on Internet Explorer. I've tried doing a refresh, but that simply takes me back to the main forums page. I've deleted my "temporary internet files". Every time, I go back to a thread I've viewed and I cannot see the latest responses.
Again, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I could not find an appropriate forum.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, a refresh will take you back to the main menu, but from there you should be able to see new posts.

Refreshing the forum will rarely let me see new posts if I had read the thread earlier in the day.
I either close the IE window with FT on it, open a new IE window and reload FT. Or, I right-click on the thread, open it in a new window, then refresh.
It's an annoyance, and it seems like a problem that the admins of FT probably won't be able to solve (has to go directly to the software makers), so I'll live with it.
Cheers,
Lawrence

Thank you for the responses! Pseudoswede, your suggestion of right-clicking the thread works! I didn't have to open another window, I merely right clicked on the thread and hit "refresh".
I humbly thank you. Now I can become more addicted to this site.

If you use IE, don't hit the refresh button at the top or F5.
You need to make sure the cursor is in the area of the thread (not at the top where the tabs are). Right click for the context menu, and select refresh. That will cause only the frame where the thread is to refresh.
For a more permanent solution, go to your temporary internet files settings and change the cache setting to "Every Visit to the Page". It'll clear things up peromanently.

I will, in turn, thank Plato90s. IIRC, refreshing the frame alone rarely solved my problems. But I also had the Temporary Internet Files setting set to "Automatically."
After changing the settings, I haven't had any problems.
