Help - Which program

Im a member of BA Exec Club. I was recently downgraded to silver from gold even though i had 1715 tier points for the last year. I flew cathay throughout last year. What i would like to know is weather Marco polo will be better for me since i fly 4 times a year on cathay(DXB-HKG-LAX-HKG-DXB) and (HKG-CGK-HKG) on business class or should i enroll on American Airlines. Help??????

Welcome to FT! As a general rule of thumb you will receive the most perks if you join the program of the airline you fly most.

I agree with Awal. Also, I have noticed that often you can accrue miles in CX's program when flying certain fares on their airline that if you tried to accrue miles in AA's program flying those same fares on CX planes, you would not accrue AA miles.

Wise advice fti. Stated another way, gametiton, pay close attention to the details of any program you consider, and research as many programs as you have time to accomplish. Of course, you can select and change later, but IMHO there will be a cost in terms of points, status, etc should you elect to do so.
