Best way to Malaga
Well, first posting for this computer novice.
Wife and I, PremExec w/UAL,trying to figure most economical trip Ord-Agp, use miles/cash?..Leave in March for 3 month stay. Very flexable tvl dates. FT's seem more knowledgeable than tvl agents or us.

Another possibility is UA to LHR, then purchase ticket on BA (or other) LHR-AGP round trip. Depending where you will actually going to be, Gibralter is another option from London.

Thank you for advice..Knew you guys/gals were good.,So far found good fare ORD-FRA with UA (not upgradeable).. and can use miles of 30M to go FRA-AGP with LH...But on return seems must be overnite in FRA..So would need budget hotel in FRA one nite in June..We are retired seniors..found an apt. Costa de Sol reasonable cost..Good exchange rate..

You'll love it there if you haven't been before. I spent 2 weeks there in 1994.
I flew to Zurich on Swissair then took "Iberia" to Malaga. The landing is quit dramatic since you buzz in low over the ocean as the runway apron is just short of the shore line.

If you get a good deal to about anywhere in the UK, you can find incredible deals to Malaga. If you have any luggage whatsoever, or you are actually going to Malaga or anywhere east of Malaga I would not fly through Gibraltar (You have to walk across La Linea. It could be a rare day that they are being tough on crossings. La Linea is a hole and you don't want to be stuck there waiting for a bus. It's 2 hours to Malaga)

Found this on Expedia:
Airport Country Hotel
Hotel class:
Availability: 3/9/2002 - 3/10/2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Room/Unit description Rate (per night)
Weekend Rate Rate Deluxe Twin Double Bedded Room $56.91 Book it
Weekend Rate Rate Deluxe Room With Kingsize Bed $56.91
Don't know your date. As usual the Sheraton at the airport is very convenient but expensive.
I have stayed a number of times in a nearby office park Langen at the Steigenberger Maxx Hotel. They have a shuttle running to and from the airport. Senior rate is $66.40. The hotel is very good.
Airport has a train station so it easy to get into town or other more appealing place.

Looks like you settled al well.
The overnight in Frankfurt should not be a problem.
This hotel in Langen seems to be good if you arrive late and leave early. Langen is not very exiting, good for one night. Sheraton at FRA is nice but expensive .. as mentioned already.
If you stay longer in Frankfurt, you should consider taking the train (S-Bahn) to the city, however, don't stay near the main station (Hauptbahnhof).
