"BRITAIN may be forced to abandon its bilateral aviation agreement with the United States after a preliminary ruling by the European Court of Justice yesterday that such deals are illegal.
Such a move would be potentially disastrous for British Airways and Virgin Arlines, which could lose the lucrative transatlantic routes from Heathrow that they are guaranteed by the Bermuda II agreement."
