freddie question and ethics

if i loved my frequent flier/stay'er program, why would i ever vote that way in the freddie awards? other people would join the program making it tough for me to book awards. also, the program would get too full of itself (i.e., Continental Airlines) and reduce (i.e., "enhance") awards. am i looking at this correctly?

Oh, I dunno?

Maybe if you vote for your airline and it becomes more popular they will have more passengers and make money, thus enabling them to stay in business. The airline might even add new routes, greater frequencies and new bigger planes.

On the other hand, an airline could become so populated with elite fliers that the airline decides to make int'l upgrades so confusing and difficult that you need a lawyer to figure out the rules and a lawyer's salary to pay for the fare difference. Said airline might also decide to start nonstop RJ flights from their hubs in northeast Cleveland to Timbuktu (airport code, anyone?) and just about anywhere else you want to go.

I still agree with Doc though. Sometimes you gotta do something because it is the RIGHT, NOBLE, HONEST, thing to do.

And who knows, the karma tide may turn back unto you.
