Programs that use credit cards
Hi all,
well, I've recently discovered something. Using upromise.com, I earn free money for doing nothing. Using onepass rewards network, I earn onepass points just for eating at restaurants I eat at anyway. Then I transfer them to Amtrak.
So my one question is ... are there any other point programs like this for every day things? Sure, if I fly an airline, or go to a restaurant, I'll sign up for their "points program". But I'm talking about free programs like rewardsnetwork --- where you just add your credit cards and earn points for doing things you would usually do anyway.
Am I missing out on any of these kinds of programs? Or is upromise and rewardsnetwork really the only kind of those? I'd love to earn more CO points, or triprewards points, or marriot points, or gold points, etc...

Do you make retail purchases on-line? If so, check out this handy site developed by a fellow FlyerTalker:

Actually, I hardly ever fly, I take the train everywhere! So Amtrak is perfect for those points. The only other place I wish I could earn points in is triprewards, without their credit card of course. But the only "swap" program I see with triprewards is points.com.... so I gotta do something like phonehog, etc... and you know what? That isn't a really good deal
I'd rather pay $50 for a room then sit on the computer for three hours clicking email links, especially since I don't like clicking things I have no interest in anyway....
Is there another way to earn triprewards points? Also, is there another "credit card" thing I'm missing other than rewardsnetwork?

OK, I checked out rewardsdb.com and notice that I am registered for Upromise and Rewards network, the only "completely free" programs. Now, I USE all my amtrak points, allof them, all the time... so it seems I'm setup kind of the way I should be. There seem to be options to earn triprewards.com points, but I'd have to switch things away from Amtrak (like staying at hotels, etc.) which I don't want to do.
IF anyone can think of any other programs where I can earn points on top of what I already am earning, thatw ould be great. Otherwise,it looks like I really am doing all I can

I looked at multiple programs. If you have U-promise, I assume you're doing this for education for your child. I now use a MBNA Mastercard for all major purchases which puts 2% of all purchases into my childs 529 account in Fidelity. I've got a separate AMEX for Costco purchases that nets back 1% and if I dine out I'll use the Amex 3% back. Anyone see any better deals beyonds these?

Don't be fooled by his modesty. You should spend hours studying his site:
www.FreeFrequentFlyerMiles.com
(Not that rewardsdb is any less valuable, Andrew
)
