I fly SFO-JFK regularly. Even as an EXP, I've learned there is less than a 50% chance of an upgrade if I take the 4pm flight back to NYC. Many people book Y-Ups and discount J. They seem to only call a handful of people off the waitlist each time. Inevitably, a GLD or PLT asks how many people are in front of them on the waitlist and the GA reports there are 8-12 EXPs in coach. I can't imagine any PLT gets upgraded, at least not on the 4pm.

Can anyone tell me the average cost of Y seats on ps flights? Are they generally higher than on AA? The CASM has to be higher.

i think "average" is a very nebulous figure- varies with time of day, day of week, load level, etc.

i see seats for $400 r/t, and $500 r/t

but remember this is E+

much more comfortable than competitors transcon economy

i compared the same dates and times on AA and they were $22 cheaper r/t

i'd pay $11 o/w for E+!!
