Finding out aircraft type on long-ago flight
Not sure if there's a better forum to ask this question, but here goes.
I'm interested in finding out the aircraft type on a set of flights I took back in '99. (I have to dig up the itinerary which is not right next to me at the moment). The flights were on UA. I have flight numbers, dates, and times.
Does anyone know of a particular resource for finding out this information? Is there even any way to find out? I'm not concerned about aircraft tail #s, even just the info from an old OAG guide or UA timetable would help.

It's a two step process.
1.
Find out the tail # (or n#), by going to: http://199.79.179.77/ntda/oai/DetailedStatistics/
and entering the pertinent flight information.
2.
Once you have the tail # (or n#), go to:
http://162.58.35.241/acdatabase/NNum_inquiry.htm to find out the type of plane and it's owner, when it was manufactured, etc.
