First AA777 in DFW tonight

This schedule changed, the the aircraft is still at Boeing.

From someone inside AA:

FYI -- AA's first 777 is scheduled for delivery this evening (1/20) to DFW. The plane, ship #7AA (registered N770AN), is a 7772P configuration with 18F/56C/163Y seats.

As of this now, the plane is scheduled to depart MWH (Moses Field, WA) at 13:15 local time and arrive DFW at 18:16. Based on the forecast winds at DFW tonight, expect the plane to land to the south on the western side of the airport and then taxi to AA'a main maintenance facility.

Tim -- I was messing around with sabre, and it seems like the first one will be on the DFW-NRT route, replacing an MD-11.

Depart DFW 1115A Arrive NRT 335P

And I think that the others will be on the other NRT routes (ORD, SJC) and on the DFW-KIX route. Hopefully they'll be on the South American routes in the next year, as I will be going to SSA (Salvador,Brazil) and will be on AA connecting to TAM probably in GRU.

Burkey:

That's too bad. I also hope they replace some of those older 767-300s going to Brazil. If you connect on TAM in GRU to Salvador, I think they'll put you on a Fokker 100. You should perhaps try to book MIA-GRU on TAM and fly on their brand new Airbus.

Tim--

Yeah, their new Airbus 330's seem nice from the interior pic's that I've seen. Did AA place their code on that flight yet? Besides, I'm planning on upgrading to biz, so I'll be on AA anyway, b/c there isn't a partner upgrade award. AA currently codeshares to two cities on TAM out of GRU and I'm hoping they will add more before I go, so I can upgrade all the way there. (I asked someone at AA on another mailing list and if there are any future plans to expand the codeshare out of GRU on TAM, I'll post it)

MMM-

I believe TAM's only partner is American Airlines.

Burkey: TAM's flights out of Miami to GRU are:

Flight/ Time
Departing Miami

JJ3921 11:05 22:33 00 STQQSSD
JJ0891 20:00 06:59 00 STQQSSD
JJ3907 22:55 10:18 00 STQQSSD
JJ3999 23:40 10:56 00 STQQSSD

Flight/Time Departing Sao Paulo

JJ3998 00:20 05:51 00 STQQSSD
JJ3920 12:00 17:32 00 STQQSSD
JJ0890 23:58 05:00 00 STQQSSD

Not sure which one has the new Airbus or which are AA's code-share.

In a somewhat related thread... for those airline nostalgia buffs, AA is painting one of their newest 757s in the color scheme used by the old Flagships back in the '50s. Commemorating 40 years of transcontinental jet service (the "water-wagon-steam-jet" (used to describe the old turbojet powered 707s) used to fly the original route is probably razor blades by now)

If you're expecting inflight service from the '50's... Fuhgeddabboudit!

Alpha -- yep, it's replacing a DC-10 on the JFK-LAX route, sorry I did hear what date and flt number it was going to be, but I already deleted the email. (Next week or two I beleive it was; and I'm not sure if all the pax will be happy, esp those displaced into other flts if the 757 is taking over the DC-10 route!)
