IAD To LAX On Easter Break
Hey All!
Can anyone offer any advice on how to go about purchasing the least expensive airfare or using the least amount of AmEx Points/United Miles to get a family of 4 from IAD to LAX? Travel dates are 4/7-4/20.

Flyertalk's community on a broader level is not heavily focused on general bargain airfares. While everyone wants a good deal, questions about inexpensive fares are usually focused on a specific airline / program (such as Amex points), or related to "Mileage Runs".
"Travel Buzz" is the board that occasionally has posting about how to find cheap fares as a whole, but surprisingly with over five million posts, this is not a subject on Flyertalk that gets a lot of bandwidth. You might also search in the Amex board for some hints.
