Help! Where do you find those segment runs

hi i'm new to flyer talk and mileage runs. i'm a UA PE out of sfo for many years. planning for 1k in 2002. my question to the elders is.. where do find and how do you price those milti-segement trips? hope you can help me shed some light on this subject.

Try this routing:

Buy a one way SFO-LAX-SAN

Then a series of roundtrip SAN-LAX-SFO (thus granting you a legal sat. night stay).

Should be cheap and fast.
