Not sure entirely, they just sent it to me. Maybe they were targetting Plats only

The request was denied. I would have had to qualify in these last months of 2007 to have status in 2008.

How long do Hyatt status matches normally take?

Danpod Sep 26, 2007 3:11 pm

I just faxed over my Hilton credentials to PC. Hopefully, my fax machine transmitted properly so this can get done as soon as possible. I called about an hour ago requesting a status match and the representative was well aware of what I was talking about. Unfortunately, the match will only last until the end of the year but with 40,000 points to go, the 50% bonus from Platinum, and the great promotions by ICHG, requalifying shouldn't be a problem. I'll keep you good folks updated.

Update at 8:48 PM CST:
I just checked my account and I've been upgraded to Platinum Status. Holy cow, that was fast!!!!

PC matched my SPG Platinum status

PC asked for proof in a fax or email. I emailed my "recent activity" and cut and pasted my summary from SPG.com. THAT was the hardest part--here's a hint, cut and paste, and then change the font color to black to see what you've pasted.

Same thing happened to me recently. I emailed PC about matching my SPG Platinum status and they asked for recent activities. A couple of days later, I was given PC Platinum but ONLY for the remainder of 2007. :td:

Hyatt Status Match

It took me 2 business days to get Hyatt Diamond comped from my Hilton HHonors Diamond. They asked for a copy of my card (I have not carried a card in years), but a few screenprints from the HH Website sufficed.

As a longtime Hhonors Diamond, I have to say that Hyatt Place has quite a nice standard room (no upgrades from what I have seen).

Same here once i got through to them. Initially the faxes wouldn't go through to their number - it was constantly busy

Then I emailed them, they emailed back and I replied with scans of the card and HH statement. The next day the match specialist contacted me and told me I had been upgraded to Diamond till feb 09 ^ Thanks to all here for the helpful info.

Has anyone with an Intercontinental Royal Ambassador tried to get a match with HHonors Plat. / SPG Plat. / Hyatt Plat.???

you can get a HH Plat challenge. HH rarely gives you Diamond right away. Hyatt Plat can be had as well with some demonstration that you've stayed 10 nights or so in a competitor's chain. SPG does not match to Plat status from RA/PC Plat.

Kimpton Status Match

Kimpton status-matched me from Starwood Platinum to Inner Circle status in March of last year: hotel-wise, it was the best move I ever made. Simply email Kimpton with your request and they'll sort you out.

Do you recall who you emailed your request to? I have had no luck with faxing, and i cannot find an email address on their site.

Thanks.

I almost thought HH was going to give DIA right off from PC Plat. They ended up giving me a challenge recently, refered to it as a promotion. 10 stays, 90 days. Not too hard, just have to switch hotels each night...:(.

SPG Plat status match from HH Diamond

I was comped to SPG Plat in less than 24 hours of sending an email to SPG plat liason (with attachments of my HH Diamond record).

Now I say good bye to promotionless Hilton. ^

As others have posted, the status is usually valid for the remaining months for the year you were comped and another full year after that. Others have advised that the best time for requesting SPG Plat status match is March 1st of any given year as you will get comped for two full years.

For me, I was going to re-qualify anyway for the year 2009 from my stays in 2008 so the timing didn't matter much except that I want to start my immediate SPG hotel stays with Plat status. :D

holtju2 Dec 21, 2007 9:26 am

On Sunday I faxed my account activity (14 pages) from Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and InterContinental that showed approximately 250 paid nights to Starwood. Just received an email from SPG that my status match request had been processed.

On the email they were referring that they had matched my Marriott status.

I am going to move part of my stays to Starwood so it won't be a problem at all to qualify under the current program rules.

phoenix Dec 22, 2007 7:37 am

Would Starwood match my HH Diamond with Platinum? What number/email do I send my match request? Thanks.!!

lucky9876coins Dec 26, 2007 4:32 pm

OK, I may be pushing my luck here, but wanted to see if anyone had any experiences pursuing a status match to HH Diamond when already HH Gold through a fast track. I did four stays in 90 days to get Gold back in the middle of last year, but it looks like I may have ten stays in 90 days the beginning of next year, so wanted to see if there was a chance they'll issue me a fast track. Any experiences?

Thanks!:)

Edit: BTW, have about 30 stays at PC properties this year, if that helps, but otherwise only stay at Hilton properties.

I recall you need to fax your other Hotel program statement to SPG in order to get the status match. That's how I got my first SPG PLT. For the second question:

Enjoy the last few days of 2007. If I were you, I'd wait till March 1 to get my status match to SPG unless you have numerous stays planned in Jan-Feb. $0.02

Lots of confirmations of this..

And I'm one of them. I got my match March 1, 2007 It allowed me to play with Starwood this past year, and see what I thought of the program and properties. Now that I've experienced platinum status, I like it. Thus, in 2008, I'll buckle down and get serious about requalification.

Gary gave me great advice when he suggested last year that I wait til March 1 to ask for my status match. Having virtually two years of status is a very nice thing.

Mr. xxxx,

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards regarding our Elite membership
program.

For Silver Elite status you must stay 10 Elite nights per calendar year, Gold
Status requires 50 Elite nights per year, and Platinum status requires 75 Elite
nights per year.

The Silver Elite level is achieved and renewed based on the number of Elite
nights on your account in a calendar year, January 1st to December 31st.

Initial Elite level achievement for the Gold and Platinum Elite levels is
handled differently. To achieve Gold or Platinum, a member only need stay the
required number of nights in any rolling calendar year. As an example, let's say
that you had 30 nights from September 1st, 2007 to December 31st, 2007 and 45
nights from January 1st, 2008 to September 1st, 2008. As this would give you 75
nights in a rolling year, you would qualify for our Platinum status.

To earn Elite night credit a member must personally stay and pay the hotel
directly for his or her room. If you have more than one room during your stay,
you only earn Elite night credit for your personal room. Also, if you are
staying using reward points, those nights do not count towards your Elite
status. When you achieve an Elite status your account remains at that Elite
status for the remainder of the calendar year in which you reach the status and
for the following calendar year.

Each week, our computer system checks the number of Elite nights on your account
for the last 12 months. If you have reach the nights needed requirement during
that time you are upgraded to the Gold or Platinum Elite level.

The nights needed to renew Gold or Platinum Elite status are based on a calendar
year so our online system tracks and reports your Elite nights based on the
current calendar year.

Thank you very much, and let me know if you have any more questions about our
program.

Sincerely,

Amy Jacobson

I was comped for entire 2008. I will have enough stays in 2008 to requalify for 2009... so no problems. :)

i also had PC status match to platinum in less than 24 hrs. I sent prior year history from Gold points Plus (Radisson Chain) and copy of Gold Elite Card.
