Miles for IBM Thinkpad Purchase?

I am getting ready to purchase an IBM Thinkpad and was wondering if there are mileage/point earning opportunities there?

I looked at Andrew Cram's table and only saw GoldPoints, Ebates and Discover Card... Only one of any use to me is GoldPoints and I didnt see a link on the goldpoints website for IBM. As it is GoldPoints arent worth much to me.

Thanks for your inputs!

Use an affiliated credit card from your favorite carrier or a card like AMEX to get points/miles.

Do you need to purchase it directly from IBM. If you can go through Staples or TigerDirect or some other merchant, you can get miles.

Bought a ThinkPad earlier this year and didn't find anything for bonus points then. But I was able to use my United Visa to get miles for the $$ spent on purchase. Good choice, by the way - I've been very happy with the R50 we got.

Yes, good thinking! Go to you the airline's website you want to earn miles on. Look at the tab with their FF program. You can usually look up what merchants you can use through their "earn miles" link.

Nice way to maximize your purchase! Enjoy your new toy!

You can probably do better just finding the cheapest price possible on that Thinkpad, and pocketing the money. Carefully evaluate the real cost of the miles you're getting.

Cost isnt the factor because its a business purchase. Given that I dont make too many big purchases (~ $3K) I was hoping to get something more than just the Credit Card Purchase miles... Doesnt sound like there is anything out there though

Thanks for your inputs!

Go to

And get the miles you want

Or go to

And there is a list of all the places where you can get miles/points/cashback

Just as an FYI, starting last week, you can now buy some of the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad models at Office Depot (in store and online).

Depending on the markup that they charge for the model you want, it may or may not be worth it for the miles.
