Is Star Alliance for One Year WOrth....
I changed jobs about 3 months ago, and no more weekly flying...BUT I am near getting STar Gold STatus on Ansett...
Due to the fact I thought I could get tier credits on some SilkAir flights I took recently, when infact I cannot get credits, I have 2 weeks to get 250 tier credits to get to star gold...
This will cost between $250 and $350 AUD...
Do you guys think it is worth it...I dont travel that much anymore, probably about 3 times a year ????

IMO, *G on Ansett would be worth it, because at that level (Global Rewards Platinum), the last time I looked you get two upgrades to business, as well as all the local and *G lounge priviledges. If you fly three flights this next year, you will amortize your investment to get *G at AU$100 per flight. If any of these flights are long-haul, just the business upgrades alone should be worth the investment. Go for it.
Too bad *G has to be renewed yearly on Ansett. Perhaps your flying will pick up next year for a requal and, if so, having *G won't hurt. BTW, the price you quote to attain 250 tier credits sounds quite cost effective.
