Does this include premium cabins? What about on AC - does it include premium cabins?
Does the status person have to be one of the passengers?
And how many BIS miles? (I did 200K on AA last year - would that have done it?)

Cool Not that hard

The company I work for has deals with AA and Delta, and part of the Delta deal was that they will comp elite status. So having made Plat (not to mention 1M miles) with AA, 'twas no problem to go Gold with Delta. Then I wrote USAir asking them to comp me to Gold because of the AA (I told them a sad story about relocating from Texas to Syracuse). So here i am, thrice-2nd-tier-elite. So far it hasn't done me much good. But if we're bragging...

Got all three as well. When I decided not to requalify for EXP on AA, that gave another 50k miles to put on another carrier as I dropped to AA PLT. You don't have to fly 300k miles per year to reach all 3. Currently have:
1World- BA Gold
*A- US CP
SkyTeam CO Plt

Only 25k away from KL Platinum but not sure if worth it at this point and thinking about another *A carrier such as Air Canada or BMI just in case US goes under.

I'm *G and ow Sapphire-so two out of the three. I suppose I could get comped to ST elite but I don't fly any of those carriers so I'll save my lifetime comp. It's nice to have lounge access when flying internationally though.

But easier still is BD (BMI) which requires 38K miles for its top tier of gold. I hold top tier with QF (OW), was status matched to BD Gold (but earned renewal, in spite of the offer to extend automatically for those who didn't use it during the last year) and also status matched into NW Platinum Elite. There's a whole lotta cheap(ened) status on both *A and SkyTeam, while it's great news for the likes of me, I'm sure it must make some of those who loyally fly with them year-in-year-out mightily peeved.

The good news for LH HON: it includes all cabins, so you can get up to 4 F or J seats for an F or J award even when no award inventory is left. The bad news: 200K BIS miles is not even close to achieving HON status unless you are doing that on paid F tickets (probably won't make it on paid J). I forget the numbers but it was about 30 F transatlantic roundtrips to reach HON (I think LH is targetting to have fewer than 2000 HON members world-wide). That might be on a 2 year cycle but still a lofty level.

HON is 600k miles in 2 calendar years, but only LH/LO/OS/UA counts. (Note F earns 325% miles, C earns 225% miles.)
