ITN is a travel booking site sponsored by American Express. It uses the Worldspan reservation system, and is preferred by many of the people here on Flyertalk because it offers the most detailed information on flights, at least when set in expert mode.

You'll find it at www.itn.net

Happy travels

After registering, set your setting to advanced.

This will show you how many seats are available per category.

And it is actually run by getthere.com (formerly itn.com), a unit of Sabre.

I would like to let this thread wander a bit, if I can.

I think ITN mostly runs from Apollo fares. Travelocity is Sabre based--is there a good public Worldspan database? Where is orbitz getting its fares?

I never find the best price on ITN, seems more like full-fare all the time. Am I missing something? Is it just me or is that site S-L-O-W . . . ?

I have the same experience with fares. Concur about the speed; it sucks.

Agree. They do provide good info but not-so-good fares.

The seat selector is useful too in seeing what seats are available.

I find that the trick to finding good fares on ITN is first visiting www.air-fare.com and seeing what deals are being run, what the conditions on those deals are, and what class those deals are booking into.

I can then search with ITN for flights with availability in that flight class -- and provided I'm following a designated routing, ensuring that all legs have availability means that I usually get excellent fares with lots of segments/miles/etc.

Be advised: My recent experience with itn is that they did not honor seats I had purchased on their site. A good fare was displayed on their site, I purchased it, and now they will only let me have the tickets if I pay more for them.

How up to date (ie, current) are the seat availability listing on Itn. If I see A9 D9 F4, would it be safe to believe that its current and that is what is available at that moment in time?

http://www.smarterliving.com/columns...0000622.1.html

Orbitz gets it from ita which gets it from Worldspan according to the above link.
