Travelocity Preferred Elite

Has anyone here seen information on this programme?

I was searching ticket prices on the site today and saw that with certain airlines if you were a "Travelocity Preferred Elite" you would receive a free (insert club name here) pass for one day use. My curiousity piqued, I hit the link.

Without full Terms and Conditions listed (I find the lack thereof disturbing IMHO) this is what I could gather..
$29 annual fee
Benefits - club passes for days that you are travelling, but I think that you are limited to 2 passes a year. Don't know if this is 2 passes per club, or 2 passes total.

Can't see any other benfits. Not worth it IMHO.

Anyone else?

It also gives you some elite status in Starwood Prefered Guest.

Personally, I find it very annoying. Whenever I want to see the available rooms for a starwood property, I now have to go through another screen asking if I want to join before I can see the availability.

It's almost worth joining just to skip over that **** page.

I thought it was 1 pass per plane ticket on that airline bought through Travelocity. I guess that'd be too good to be true...why would you buy the club membership? Of course, two measly passes is pretty stingy, too...

And it assumes you book it in time to have them mail the passes to you. It looked like they had tripped over something good, but then when you really look into it, what do you get?

Preferred in any hotel program, other than top level doesn't seem to be worth much. You get a room. You check in. You check out.

Besides any questionable inherent value of such "status," Travelocity's customer service, in general, leaves MUCH to be desired.

Hate to make a dumb promotion even worse, but the fee for the "Preferred Elite" is $79 not $29. The $29 is for "Preferred", not "Elite". And to get the club room passes, you need to be "Elite". And the $79 fee is the "Introductory First Year" only. After that it is the regular price of $99. Just gets worse and worse the more I read into this one. Take care.

it gets even worse. you only get 2 lounge passes per airline per year. Being that they only offer
AA and US lounge access, that's a maximum of 4 lounge passes in a year for $79

Did someone say Travelocity and Customer Service in the same sentence? How, what, where, when? Customer service? No way!
