TWA - AA Merger
Has anyone heard when the TWA miles are going to be merged into AA accounts?
Does anyone know how the merger will affect AA miles that are going to expire in 2001, 2002, etc.?

Thanks doc.
Looks like maybe October for the merged miles?
Also, I was hoping that the merger might somehow extend my AA miles, but I suppose that would be asking too much.

FC,
If they are going to give us 6 months then it may be later than October. However, the miles are protected so any delay may just be an annoyance compared to what could have happened.

FCfree..my understanding of AA and expiring miles is that as long as you have one activity in your account every three years your miles won't expire.
Buy five boxes of cereal or nutrigrain bars send in the coupons...you're set for another three years

Anything that changes the balance in your account, be it earning miles or spending miles, is considered activity and will defer the expiry date by another three years.
It sounds like you have a nearly dormant AA account? There are many, many different things you can do to get some "activity" there. 1) Sign up for AA's e-Summary. You'll earn 1000 miles two weeks after you receive the first one. 2) Join AOLAAdvantage. Just for signing up, you'll get 500 miles.
There are plenty more, but these are by far the easiest ways.
