Convenience in MSP - New Tram

FYI - New tram linking red/blue ramps and car rental to main terminal in MSP. Great for those flying to/from the twin cities.

Just had a chance to use it on Tuesday the 3rd on the way back from the Final Four. Great thing about the tram is that it has only the smallest of gaps between the edge of the platform and the tram - thus meaning that your rolling bag or (in my friend's case) a baby stroller will not get caught in the gap and you don't have to take everything apart to get on and reassemble when you get off.

Looks like they're building a light rail link into Minneapolis (would assume a link to St. Paul too is in the offing) too. Also, it looks like they're building a tram track by the C Concourse - imagine it might be used to link the future A & B concourses to the terminal. Wonder if it'll be a separate tram or an extension of the current tram line (a la Frankfurt).

New tram in concourse C (to A and B) should be separate from the tram to the parking ramps. I'm not sure about the date it opens.

I worked on planning the Light Rail line in Minneapolis, in the route planning dept. of the transit agency, and I can tell you that there aren't immediate plans for a line to St. Paul-- the proposed line is a test to see how successful Light Rail is received... then they may add others into St. Paul and the suburbs.
