I'm sure glad this information is here. I have an 11:00am flight on 03/25 from LHR to ORD. Without this info I would probably never have known to adjust my watch the night before.

Here in Arizona, summer has begun. Temps are ~85F & sunny. I must note (quite happily) that we do NOT observe daylight savings time.

Lieber Rudi wieviel schlaf Du und Gisela bekommen interessiert bestimmt nicht im BUZZ!
Dear Rudi how much sleep you and Gisela get is not that interesting and does not belong in BUZZ! I just do not get it when "oldtimers" start diluting the forums! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif ------------------ Viele Grüße Oliver |
Now, now, Oliver - vielleicht habt Ihr beide Recht.
My only problem is when German-speakers use English words with another meaning - like Oldtimer, which sometimes means a classic car! And don't start me off with the German word Handy - which does not mean handy! (For non-German speakers, Handy means mobile or cellular phone). Or is this an Insider-Tip?! |
This is good information for people traveling on those dates. I'm traveling on April 1st from the Eastern zone to the Central zone. Thank you dgolds.

Yes, same thing every year.
U.S. rule: First Sunday in April EU rule (including U.K.): Last Sunday in March This is why London is always 5 hours ahead of New York, except for this one week every year, when it's 6 hours. |
Thanks, Rudi, I completely forgot about it...
And I totally agree... it's a great way to get an extra hour of sleep, and an even better excuse to stay awake an extra hour... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

Zum Besten meiner Kenntnis endet die Sommerzeit noch am letzten Sonntag Septembers in Europa; bestimmt letzten Sonntag Oktobers in USA/Kanada.
To the best of my knowledge, Daylight Saving Time still ends on the last Sunday of SEPTEMBER in Europe; definitely the last Sunday in OCTOBER in USA/Canada. |
Summertime in Europe and for (1) week great connections on UA-Codeshares from ZRH to UA flights in FRA, because they all leave one hour later. After that it's back to 3 hour waits for my favorite SFO and IAD flights.
